GridEye, our utility grid management tool, features a web services interface that enables utilities and consumers to proactively manage their networks and energy usage. GridEye can ensure a balance between supply and demand and support utilities automated demand response programs, a key element of utilities energy management policies. GridEye allows utilities to reduce energy usage in order to place usable megawatts back on the energy grid during periods of peak demand, eliminating the need to run inefficient peaking plants and reducing generation costs.

GridEye integrates with all aspects and components of the Smart Grid including BPL nodes, AMR meters, ZigBee thermostats and relays. This relationship provides utilities with an integrated view of key metrics: end-to-end performance, traffic analysis, and device performance. GridEye’s performance first approach enables Utilities to understand the relationship between infrastructure use and application performance. By measuring how networked applications perform under normal circumstances, understanding how performance is impacted by infrastructure and application changes, and isolating points of failure, GridEye can ensure problems are resolved quickly, mitigate grid risk, and take measured steps to optimize grid performance. GridEye was created in mind to serve as a single, comprehensive, and easy to use portal for all Smart Grid applications. GridEye reduces the need for multiple applications that are typically required to manage multiple components of your grid or network.

GridEye has two distinct portals. The feature functionality of the consumer portal provides real time features such as billing, in-home energy management controls, DSM settings, security and monitoring, etc. The utility portal allows for the monitoring of equipment, detection of power outages, reads meters and performs remote disconnects/connects, controls and manages equipment on the grid, monitors substations, and proactively signals that other related issues/tasks need attention.

GridEye integrates with most utility applications by simply enabling/disabling settings within GridEye. This allows for quick and easy integration with your current utility applications.
