PowerGrid's Smart Grid solution is designed to help utilities proactively monitor and manage all aspects of their grid. Through PowerGrid’s BPL-Lite network architecture, utilities can cost effectively manage, control, and respond faster to situations like outage detection, load management, and equipment status. Smart Grid technology provides a self healing power network that is able to adjust to its environment. Highlighted with PowerGrid's GridEye management software, Utilities have immediate and remote access to all of the components that make up the entire grid.

A unique aspect to PowerGrid’s BPL-Lite architecture is the elimination of using low voltage lines as transport into the building or residence. Instead, we install ZigBee radio devices to communicate with determined end-points. This is cost effective and reliable solution for “low bandwidth” applications and smart grid devices. PowerGrid designs and strategically installs ZigBee controllers throughout the grid’s footprint to ensure effective two way communications takes place between multiple devices and buildings.

Consider BPL-Lite architecture solution as future-proof. As new utility applications or ISP services are layered onto the circuit and additional bandwidth is needed, the BPL-Lite network can easily be upgraded and there is no need to rebuild the entire circuit.
